Our History

After working in the wool business in Italy for 15 years, Denys Rawson decided to move his family to America and founded R&M International Sales Corporation in 1977.

Denys began by exporting wool, synthetic and fiber waste from the US & Australia to Europe. Initially, R&M primarily traded textile fibers and yarns and later expanded into the plastics industry as well .

As word spread throughout North America about the quality of products and high standards of the R & M International Sales Corporation, Denys was soon busy fulfilling orders for customers in the United States, Canada, and Mexico along with his European business.

By the time the company moved to its current location in Fort Washington, PA in 1999, it had developed into a leading, full-service importing, exporting, and trading company with clients in over 40 countries.

R&M International is a private, family-run business which now includes sons Peter and Dominic and daughter Elena. Together, the Rawson family today represents over 75 years of experience in the raw materials industry.

• Denys Rawson is still acting CEO and maintains relationships with international customers worldwide.

• Peter Rawson graduated from LaSalle University in Philadelphia. He joined R&M in 1989. Peter is responsible for sales, purchasing and managing relationships with customers and suppliers.

• Dominic Rawson graduated from Assumption College in 1990. Dominic started his career in the wool industry in Boston. He migrated to synthetics and plastics when he joined R&M in 2000. Dominic is responsible for sales, purchasing and new business development.

• Elena Rawson-Brennan graduated from Villanova in 1994. After graduation Elena pursued a career in the Healthcare industry and then Pharmaceutical sales. In 2005, Elena joined her father and brothers at R & M. Elena Rawson-Brennan heads up Operations and Finance at R&M.

• Kathleen Swider graduated from Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science in 1998.  She decided to continue her studies in the textile industry by pursuing a career with R & M International.  Kathleen is responsible for handling all international & domestic logistics.

• Joyce Boyd has worked in the textile industry for her entire career.  Joyce has been with R & M International since June 2007 and handles all customer relations in financial aspects, including inventory management and AP and AR.

• Lindsay McGann graduated from Penn State in 2004. She joined R&M in June of 2008. Lindsay assists with sales, purchasing and managing relationships with customers and suppliers.
